Alison Doody

Alison Doody has been an Irish actor and model since November 11, 1996. Following her debut in a feature film with a tiny part in Bond film A View to a Kill (1985) she went on to appear as a Nazi-sympathising archaeologist Elsa Schneider, in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989). Siobhan Donevan as A Prayer for the Dying (1997), Charlotte Taffin (1988), and Rebecca Flannery Major League II (1994) are other roles. A photographer approached Doody. Doody began to model and subsequently an industry-related career in modelling. Doody strictly avoided glamour, nudity and thongs in her modelling career. After being spotted by of the casting director of a new James Bond film she accepted an unimportant role as Jenny Flex in 1985's A View to a Kill. Doody appeared in John Willis Screen World Volume 2, as one 12 promising young actors for the year 1986. 38. Doody was still only 18 years old when she made her appearance in the Bond role. As of today she's the newest Bond girl. Another film from her early days had her in a minor role in a small role as IRA member Siobhan Donovan on A Prayer for the Dying (1987) in which she featured Mickey Rourke. Doody played Archibald Craven's wife Lilias as he portrayed his fantasy in the 1987 adaptation of The Secret Garden. The first time she played the lead in an episode from 1988 of the Jim Henson fantasy series The Storyteller as Sapsorrow with John Hurt Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders. In 1988, she starred with Pierce Brosnan on the movie Taffin. The most memorable performance to date was her role as Austrian Nazi sympathizer and archaeologist Doctor Elsa Schneider opposite Harrison Ford in 1989's Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. It also featured Sean Connery as Indy's father Doody has acted alongside three actors who have portrayed James Bond. Doody co-starred in 1991 with Jonathan Pryce opposite the British mini-series Selling Hitler, which was in the spirit of a publication scam known as the Hitler Diaries. Following her move to Hollywood, Doody became an international star. She was Flannery the agent of Charlie Sheen and her girlfriend for Major League II. She had been chosen as the replacement for Cybill Shepherd who was once L'Oreal's spokeswoman. Doody came back to acting in 2003 when she played a minuscule role as a character in The Actors, a British comedy The Actors, in which Michael Caine played herself at the awards ceremony. In 2004, Doody appeared with Patrick Swayze alongside a TV version of King Solomon's Mines. Also, she appeared in Benjamin's Struggle (2005), which was a pamphlet that described the Holocaust. Doody appeared as a character in Danny Dyer 2010's The Rapture. Later, she appeared as a guest in the medical drama of RTE The Clinic and was set to star in a 2011 remake of horror classic The Asphyx but the project was later put on hold. The actress began her two seasons of the E4 comedy Beaver Falls in 2011 as Pam Jefferson. In 2014, she was a part of We Still Kill the Old Way. In November she was awarded the Almeria award for best film and was awarded a Star on Almeria's Walk of Fame.
